What counts as a business day

Monday through Friday count as business days. Saturday and Sunday count as weekend days. The calculation uses calendar dates only, so daylight-saving changes and time zones do not affect the result.

Why the dates are inclusive

The selected start and end dates are both part of the range. If either boundary falls on a weekday, it counts as a business day. This makes Monday through Friday equal five business days.

What about public holidays?

This first version does not use a country or holiday calendar. A weekday still counts as a business day even when it is a public holiday where you live or work.

Worked example

From Monday 2026-08-10 through Sunday 2026-08-16, the range contains 7 calendar days: 5 business days and 2 weekend days.

When the end date comes first

The calculator normalizes the range and gives the same count in either direction. If you enter the later date first, the result says so without changing the business-day total.
